IE* not co-operating with my Tumblr posting.

Scroll bar acting CRAZY in my Tumblr edit window when using IE8.

I'm in a networked environment and have a Tumblr blog that I use to communicate to clients. In the last few weeks, I haven't been able to post using IE8 because the scroll bar and cursor will automatically go to the end of the post. This makes it impossible edit long posts, which is every post! I've been using Chrome as a work around but it has other formatting issues that make the work 10 times as long as it would be if I could use IE.

I've only found one mention of such an issue on the internet, but it was only a complaint from a tumblr blog with no follow-up or solution. I know this isn't a lot to go on... help?

I also have errors showing up on the page every time I load tumblr in IE8. I don't know if they are related.

Best answer: Go into Development mode in IE8 (hit your F12 key), and change to standards, compatibility, or quirks mode, to see if that helps. Alternatively, upgrade to IE9, as it supports a lot of the standards that IE8 ignored for the most part.

Response by poster: HAha the joke is on me, bc it worked and now it doesn't. I know that something has to be different, but I can't figure it out.

Best answer: Speaking as someone that was just helping a developer deal with IE8 debugging, IE8 is a nightmarish browser to write for. Upgrade version, try Firefox maybe instead of Chrome, but don't expect IE8 to always work nicely because it's a total pain in the ass.
