More on-line pants please

If you wear Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans, what other pants (brands, models) fit you? Hate in-person shopping, and would love to buy more pants on line.

I hate shopping, and would love to order all of my clothes on line. Pants are the hard part. If you wear Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans (these always fit me), what other pants fit you? Especially pants that are not jeans. (If it matters: I am 5' 6", sturdily built, proportionate. I wear pant sizes ranging from 10 to 14 depending upon my weight at the time and the brand of pants.)

Best answer: We must be twins! The only jeans that fit me are the GV Amanda and Not Your Daughter's Jeans, which fit me even better. I order my NYDJ through Zappos.

Claudia -- NYDJ recommends buying a size smaller than you normally do, but I wear the same size in both brands. If you buy through Zappos, you can order more than one size and return what doesn't fit. They ship free both ways.

I have worn Amanda jeans for the past 10 years, and I have found that NO other pants fit me well. I've gone up and down from size 14(regular) to 18W over the years and Amanda's are still the only pants that fit me well. This year, I couldn't find my size in any store within 30 miles of my house and I was afraid they were going to discontinue them. I did finally find them and bought 4 pairs just in case. Since then, I've seen them in the stores again - I must have just hit a dip in the seasonal restocking cycle. But I was feeling panic there for a while.

I am not kidding, I have gone to a department store and tried on over 30 pairs of pants and not found one that fits me. I hate shopping for jeans - I tried NYDJ and they did not fit either.

I did once manage to find a pair of black trousers for slightly-more-dressy occasions at Dillards's last year, but they were on clearance. I immediately went to every Dillard's in the area and bought 2 of each size from 14-18 and I've never seen them again, either instore or online. I'll have to go home to find out the brand (but if you can find these anywhere, I will buy them all up).

Best answer: I love GV jeans. For years they were all I wore. Now I also wear Westports from The Dress Barn. Sounds awful, I know, but they come in cute styles and fit just like GV's.

Best answer: Me too! Me too! One of the best things about being a biologist is that I can get away with wearing my GV jeans a lot more than at most jobs. The dressy pants that I have that fit well are rafaella brand. They used to be sold at Macy's as Macy's "career pants", but don't seem to be anymore. These look right. I think mine are the "gabardine curvy fit".
