1Password/Dropbox issues...

1Password trouble... I have two desktop computers using 1Password and the same Dropbox account. When I cut-and-paste passwords from it... no prob, works perfectly. When I use the browser plugins to log in for me... nope, wrong password.

So, it seems like the computer with the passwords isn't synching to the dropbox account. But, when in the 1Password app and I click Sync, it tells me "All files are up to date" while simultaneously telling me that I have the option of "pausing synch" which implies the synching is in-progress. But, it never says anything else so therefore never seems to be done.

Frankly, it's driving me batty and I want to smash its face in.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the app and the plugins.

Suggestions?

Mac Mountain Lion

Are the files the same in the Dropbox folder on both devices? Or, to put it another way, is Dropbox synched?

When this happened to me, it was because I had accidentally placed two 1Password folders in my dropbox folder, and the two 1Password installs were automagically finding different data stores. Any chance that is what is going on?

Check the location of the data file on both computers to make sure they are using the same file in the Dropbox folder.

You will find the location in 1Password > Preferences > General menu.

Do you realize that Mountain Lion is still pre-release software intended for software developers to test their software on? Incompatibility, bugs and problems with third party software is par for the course. Why not use Lion?

Not sure this is the situation you are describing, but if you are cutting and pasting from the "Secure Notes" section of 1Password, that holds different information than the "Logins" section which feeds your browser login.

I might try deleting your "Login" for one of the sites that is problematic, go to log in and get the "Save Login to 1Password" prompt, and see if that fixes your issue on both computers.

If it does, I'm going to say that your Logins have not been updated, just your Secure Notes.

I have found that Agile Bits (1P) customer support is flawless, I would direct your question to them for a concise answer to your issues.
