A console game deserving of the British Bulldog

Name a recent (and good) console game by a British company
As part of an upcoming competition to celebrate UK game developers, I've been assigned the task of purchasing a console game to give to a raffle winner. Would appreciate opinions and recommendations for such a prize!

How recent is "recent"? Fable III was developed by Lionhead and released in 2010 to some acclaim. Also, the game itself is pretty damn British -- it takes place in the Kingdom of Albion and John Cleese, Simon Pegg and Ben Kingsley (among others) provide voicework.

Okay, looking at the cast list again, apparently everyone voicing someone in that game is from the UK. Also: Stephen Fry!

Could you mean by a British dev team/studio but for a non-British publisher?

Response by poster: Yes, British team but non-British publisher is perfectly fine too!

Criterion games made the absolutely phenomenal Burnout Paradise, but it came out in 2008. They also developed Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, which came out in 2010. That was good, but not as good as Burnout Paradise.
In lieu of a single new-ish game, may I suggest several older games?

I'm so not a gamer myself: but I hear good things about the Grand Theft Auto series, and some of those games were worked on by Rockstar Leeds and/or Rockstar North.
Codemasters are still out releasing games too, and I know some of my friends play the Dirt and F1 games.
Honestly I don't know how *good* any of those games are, but they are about as recent as I can think of!

I've not played it myself, but Total War: Shogun 2 by The Creative Assembly in West Sussex won a Bafta recently for Best Strategy Game.

All the console LEGO video games are made by Traveler's Tales, which is British, and are very well reviewed and good for all ages. The latest ones are LEGO Harry Potter (Years 5-7) and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. They're also pretty cheap, like $20 in the US.

I'd carefully check the credits. Many games are spread out all over, so depending on what you're trying to accomplish it may not be easy.

Codemasters' best output is their racing games, so that means Dirt 3 or F1 2011. Racing games are not everyone's cup of tea though.
Fable 3 is very British, but it's also not very good IMO.
The Kinect Sports games are made by Rareware.
Ninja Theory made Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, which didn't get enough coverage, but I really liked.
Sniper Elite V2 is by Rebellion, and was released a few weeks ago.
