Quick haircut in Denver?

Denver, CO: I am flying in to Denver tomorrow and have a small window of time during which I need to get a haircut. Where can I get my haircut tomorrow afternoon, downtown in the central business district?

I'll be arriving in Denver tomorrow around 3 PM, and I have until 8 PM free to get to my hotel, get a haircut, and find a place for a quick dinner. I am hoping there is a place not too far from 14th and California where I can get a haircut.

I'm a female with short hair, but I am in the middle of growing it out a bit. I need a haircut desperately because my hair is starting to look clumpy and a lot like a helmet. I'd like to pay less than $40, if possible. I'm willing to go to a chain if they do a decent job, but I really need to be sure they know how to shape/thin really thick, wavy hair.

All suggestions welcome! (And Denverites, if you feel like throwing out some suggestions for good places to eat or hang out downtown, please do. I've never been to Denver before and might have an hour here or there to get out into the city.)

Floyd's at 16th and Champa is pretty good.

well, it's about 3 miles away from 14th and california, but when i used to live there, stacy stender at bang salon on alameda was fantastic. i don't know if she's still there, but if she is, i would go to her.

Last time I was in Denver (my old home town), I had a terrific meal at Steuben's, which is on 17th between Pennsylvania and Pearl. (No haircut suggestions, sorry)

There's an Aveda salon at 16th and Market, you should be able to get a walk-in and at your price point, that will probably get you the best cut.

Sorry, Aveda SCHOOL, not just salon. So prices are quite reasonable.

I've heard that Floyd's is terrible for haircuts for women, actually. Check out the Yelp reviews. I don't have an idea of a good salon in that area, but if you like beer and delicious pub food, I love Euclid Hall or FreshCraft.

I go to Grand Salon, on Wazee between 14th and 15th, as do a few friends of mine, and we all love it. (The site says haircuts are $45+, though. Mine is usually $50.)

Best answer: Seconding Aveda, but there's one at 700 16th Street, not even two blocks from your hotel.

Dinner at Panzano's, 909 17th Street, about five blocks from your hotel. Best Italian in town. Have the Crespelle ai Funghi (Hazel Dell mushroom stuffed crepes, fonduta sauce and white truffle oil) - but everything's great.

Try to get down to Larimer Square - lots of cool old buildings, several great places to eat. The mall shuttle on 16th Street is free.

Actually, the restaurant at your hotel, Altitude, is not bad at all.

I've always had a fine time at Floyd's for a cheap-ish haircut.

Hit up Diego's at 16th and Champa for some good Mexican. Avocado and Carnitas Burrito (smothered, green) ftw.

Hit Le Grand for French food that will make your eyes roll back on your head with sheer delight. I had one of the best brunches of my life there a couple of months ago. It's on 15th and Curtis.
