I need suggestions for my "A million girls have a crush on you but I have one the most-est" playlist.
So far my playlist has two songs:
The Tide is High by Blondie
and
Hey Stephen by Taylor Swift
I need more songs with that idea of being someone's biggest fan among many and being the most dedicated who will be there in the end and actually get the guy.
Thanks!

"I've Got a Crush On You" (covered by about a million singers of both genders) has a (sometimes skipped) intro that would work from the other side of this:
How glad the many millions
of Annabelles and Lillians/Toms and Dicks and Williams/Timothys and Williams, etc
would be
to capture me
but you had such persistence
You wore down my resistance
I fell
and it was swell
The next set of lyrics also have different versions depending on the singer:
I'm your/You're my big and brave and handsome romeo
How I won you, I will never, ever know
It's not that you're/I'm attractive
but, oh, my heart grew active
when you
came into view
The rest of the song is just a generic crush song.

It's not exactly about that, but Lady Gaga's Paparazzi has a lot of lyrics that fit!

Dobie Gray's version of Drift Away is excellent. The lyrics don't explicitly have anything to do with being a guy's biggest fan, but it's a damn good song. In the context of the right mix CD, I think you can read it as a metaphorical appeal to a person.
Bill Withers' Kissin' My Love is a good one.
The Drive-By Truckers' Live from Austin version of 18 Wheels of Love is one of my favorite love songs.
Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris: We'll Sweep Out the Ashes in the Morning.
And Come to Butt-Head, just for kicks.
Speaking as a guy, I'd be a little wary if I got an entire mix full of songs with lyrics like the ones you've already found. That's just me though.

Response by poster: Lots of good ones, thanks! Keep them coming.
Although I am thinking of naming the next mix that I actually share with him "I want to boil your bunny" That's cool right? ;p

This is just for me to ruminate in my own feelings, while I try to keep my feelings to myself until the appropriate time :)

Along the same I-have-a-crush-on-you-more-than-your-girlfriend lines as Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend," Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend."

Best answer: Brand New Key is the correct answer to this question, but if you're just wallowing in your own weird messy feelings what you want is the Rasputina version.

Once you're working on that, I think we've got it covered.

If you're okay with the genders being swapped: the Magnetic Fields, 'Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side'.Catseye, you've captured the exact mood I was looking for with this suggestion. Better than even my original two. 50 million points.

You love him the most (and he's about to come around):
Honeyroot - Nobody Loves You (The Way I Do)
He's a player but you're determined to get him:
Billie Holiday - I Must Have That Man
You're starting to come unhinged:
Screamin' Jay Hawkins - I Put a Spell On You
