Help me find the name of a unique language acquisition method that I've heard about but can't quite identify.
A while back I rememeber reading about an esoteric language acquisition method that seemed to do wonders for its practioners. The method, I think, consisted of reading a book in the desired foreign language, taking a break to pace and forth across the room, and then using doing other activities that sound a little far-fetched but prove to have pretty good results. The technique is probably from the late 19th century if I'm correct and although it's very strange, some notable swear by it. I've been trying to find the name of it by scouring google and wikipedia but haven't been able to locate anything that fits my description.

Response by poster: Yep, I think this is it. I was wrong about it being from the late nineteenth century and yet you still found it.
Thanks.

You're welcome! I ran across his site last year; based on your clue about the 'pacing back and forth' I was pretty sure that was it.
