A science fiction writer described a world where people could get from a parallel world anything that had been put in there by others. That's all I know. Who was that author and what was the story's title?

Response by poster: Turns out that was Sergey Lukyanenko, a Russian writer. I still need the story's title.

Do you remember if you read it in English or Russian?

Of the English translations I've read, the only one that comes to mind is the short story "From Fate". Not quite the same scenario - an agency allows clients to swap a specific fear/fate/destiny with another, in exchange for a cut of the probability - but similar.

Almost 100% certain I read it online, and I've got this site bookmarked, but it's not loading for me at the moment.
