do nude calendars sell?

I need ideas on ways to raise money to rebuild my life after being hurt in an accident.

I was hurt in a car accident, and I can't take my insurance company's stalling any more (and I have to face reality, they might never pay). I'm looking for ways to raise the money myself (not fair. I know). I'm talking about a substantial amount that will give me a few years of income as I build a new way of supporting myself around disabilities I now have.

I've reached the stage that almost nothing is below me (not kidding with the title. do nude calendars sell? templates floating around to do this? sites with publishing on demand to do it with? specific advice?). Though nothing extremely illegal (I'm no Breaking Bad material) nor organ donating (need to hold on tight to parts of me that still work).

(I've seen this. Since it will probably take me a few years to get back on my feet, I need more money than the poster. )

ideas? (ideas can include shaming campaigns against the insurance company, though the chances of that succeding are very very slim)

I think that if you haven't already you should lawyer up and maybe ask the mods to anonymize this. Legal counsel may get you where you need to be financially. Really tough situation though, good luck.

Not in April, they don't. People buy calendars at the end of the year.

Also, do you have any fame you'd be starting with? Any association that sells itself? I'm much less likely to buy a nude calendar of some random person. I've bought calendars that friends have produced (girls and homebuilt motorcycles), and calendars that friends have appeared in (girls who play accordions), and one print that featured a bunch of naked roller derby dudes, but never gone "Oh, random naked folks. I MUST have that." The internet is FULL of naked people. Why is your nakedness interesting?

I've been to a lot of benefit shows (both bands/music and burlesque) that raised money for a member of the community's medical expenses. Do you have any connections in that community? Frequently, these shows will have an associated raffle or silent auction.

Good luck. This is a really rough situation to find yourself in.

Response by poster: These Birds of a Feather, I've already failed at lawyering up. I have to give up on court and move on. I've wasted too much time on the legal battle.

Response by poster: mollymayhem, the problem with any benefit I organize, is that (touch wood) I'm not a dying person (who wouldn't sympathize?), but a disabled person trying to start over. It's not exactly the situation that opens purse strings (but for insurance to kick in. sigh).

and the calendar? as I was searching the net for aids I need, turns out there seems to be a crowd with a fetish for cervical collars (who knew?)...

Looking at that previous question, the advice was 'get a lawyer'. That aside, something else relevant from that question is 'I am not in the USA'. Most charitable organisations that people will suggest here are in the USA. Are there any more details that could be relevant? Where you actually are, for instance? If you are in Saudi Arabia then a nude calendar is a very different proposition.

It's a big world. I don't see any compelling reason for you to keep your country of residence secret if you're serious about getting answers.

I don't know where you're located, but here's two ideas you might investigate... First, what about leasing space in your home v to travelers via AirBnB or equivalent? Second, perhaps you could sell stuff via Amazon that you source online. It might make sense to either sell stuff from your country that's appealing in the US (on the main Amazon.com site) or you could identify US goods that are desirable wherever it is you live, if there's a sub-country site there. To find out what that stuff is, you could query people on larger social network sites, e.g., the relevant country sub-reddit. Good luck, and YMMV.

Response by poster: I'm from Israel (I didn't want it to turn into an issue. Israel is an issue for many people, myself included). I don't expect anyone to know the legal system here (I do). As far as advice goes, think of me as asking from Canada or Europe.

I see from a previous question you posted that you are a German citizen. Perhaps you should investigate whether there is a social welfare safety net for the disabled in Germany and whether you qualify, and move there. I have always understood that European countries were more generous in that regard than the US.

While you're considering ideas, take a look at Indiegogo. You could use it to crowdfund whatever you set your mind on.

For the insurance: call call call. Ask for appeals procedure and demand resolution . As much as I hate it, ask for a supervisor. This is so you have no Doubt if claim will approve or deny. And if denied? Appeal!!
