Chicago deep dish pizza near Blue Line?

Some friends and I will be flying into O'Hare and then trotting over to the local hotels near the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

Since we probably won't finish with business until around 8pm, we need to find some good deep dish pizza spots within a 0.3 mile walking distance of a blue line train stop.

I've Yelped Giordano's, but I think it may be too touristy based on its proximity to the airport.

Can anyone recommend pizza restaurants with a specialty in Chicago deep dish?

You'll get lots of answers and every person I know from Chicago has their own personal favorite. I personally think Giordano's is great, but some locations have been better than others. In fact, when I order Deep Dish pizza via mail to where I live now it's from Giordano's.

There's a Lou Malnati's in Wicker Park off the Damen stop. But it's carryout only.

I was coming in here to mention the Lou Malnati's off the Damen stop, but remember, if the weather is remotely decent you could go across the street into Wicker Park and eat there.

I like Giordano's a lot. However, my boyfriend's favorite is Lou Malnati's. Their South Loop location isn't too far from the LaSalle Blue Line stop, and they are open until 11pm on weekdays, midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 10pm on Sunday.

For a chain Giordano's is alright.

There's a Giordano's a block away from the UIC-Halsted stop on the Blue Line.

Uno's is my favorite, but I'm fairly sure it's nowhere close to the Blue Line (I'm not a native Chicagoan)

If deep dish is what you want, Lou Malnati's or Giordano's will cover it.

If you want excellent pizza of the non-deep-dish variety AND excellent craft beer, Piece is located off the Blue Line at Damen. It's on North Ave. just east of Damen. My wife and I have been visiting Chicago for years and gave up on deep dish. We go to Piece every time.

There's a Gino's East at 8725 Higgins, about 1.5 miles from the convention center. You could cab it over there in 5 minutes instead of buying CTA cards and doing the 40 minute hike downtown and back.

Hell, I'm sure that Gino's will deliver to the convention center or the hotels nearby. No need to leave at all. Just make sure they don't cut the pizza before delivering it.

Like wcfields said, there is a Giodano's in greektown right next to the UIC-Halsted stop, but it's worth noting that there are two exits from that stop. If you go up the exit that is the big long ramp to the east it kicks you out right by it. Just walk north a little bit and you'll see it.
