How to be notified when new issues of comic books come out?

Is there a way to be notified when new issues of specific comic books are released?

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to be notified when a new comic book in a specific series is released. Ideally, I'd get an e-mail when a new issue of, say, The Walking Dead comes out.

An app or web site that does this would also work.

You might talk to your local comic shop. Mine does weekly emails about what's being released on Wednesday and will also hold the comics on reserve if I want. Your local shop may offer more specific services.

At least when I was more into it, pretty much every comic shop will do this, and like Argyle said, will hold books for you on a regular basis. As far as I know, they love this because it’s guaranteed sales and gives them a better idea of how much to order.

comixology.com does do this. You can also have your local comic shop set up a "pull list" for you through comixology.

I get a couple of weekly emails from Things From Another World - one is just the upcoming list, one is specific items I've requested info about. I order from them sometimes, but just getting the email is great.
