I want my facebook wall gone.

I want my facebook profile to serve as a second email account, and nothing more. Help?
Basically, I want my profile visible to me, and only me. Meaning I want NO wall at all. I need a break from weird dynamics, and have decided that since I can't delete my profile (too many friends and contacts and I manage a couple of pages) I would at least like to take a break from posting, having friends post on my wall, etc. How can I do this? Do I have to create a list and add everyone? I've tried hiding my wall but I'm getting nowhere. Ideally my profile would be a button which says "send message", and that's it. Please help.

This guide that FB offers comes with handy pictures to help you get your page to look just the way you want it to.
