What family outing can we do that will be fun for our two year old toddler? trick- we only have a few hours. location is the philadelphia suburbs.

My boyfriend gets his daughter at 2 tomorrow (sunday), and we want to go out and do something fun...before she's out like a light around 8:30. Trouble is, we'd rather it not be outside. we're about 40 minutes west of philadelphia. Help, Hive!

Longwood Gardens would be nice, warm, and humid this time of year. They have an indoor children's garden that my two boys liked when they were that age. Have a snack in the cafe when you arrive and check out a map while the little one is occupied.

My niece and nephew (15 months and 3.5 years old, respectively) both just had a grand old time at the Please Touch Museum, which is specifically geared toward young children.

Toddlers love model trains. Tomorrow there is an open house for a local model train club, and they have a large stupendous layout, and stools for little kids to stand on and see everything. It's probably good for a couple of hours of fascination, and it is free - although they do ask for a donation. It is open until 5PM. http://www.svmrrc.com/OpenHouse.html.
