From where to buy Trip cancellation insurance?

I'm looking for a place to purchase trip cancellation insurance for my international air tickets

I purchased two international air tickets for coming summer for $1500 each (and $300 for our 15 month old).
Earlier I never used to purchase trip cancellation (TC) insurance, but now with a 15 month old I'm thinking what if he gets sick and we have to cancel the trip

My travel agent sends me the reservation through a link to the https://www.virtuallythere.com
In that site itself they sell TC insurance for $25 each (so $75 for all three of us)

My question is has anyone heard about this site? Is it reliable?
If not give me some suggestion on places that I could purchase it.
I'm looking for a company that will actually pay me back if something happens

I usually buy it through a travel agent, and now my bank offers it as well. $25 seems low - make sure it will cover what you need it to cover.

I buy it through AMEX (Global Travel Shield)and have had nothing but amazing service with them.

Once they completedly covered a trip rebooking on a multi-leg transpacific flight+ a generous per diem. (we didn't realized that 3 hrs between flights wasn't enough time to allow for NZ's weird weather patterns and missed the transpacific bit of our flight home).

Additionally I've had good experiances with them figuring out exactly where in South America our Luggage was and them doing the leg work and getting it to us.

Response by poster: I have an Amex card, so that might be a good option for me.
If you have a link can you please post it?
Thanks.

oh, I always got one of the delux plans, at about ~100 per person, which also covers medical insurance, extradition to the US, all lodging costs, a 24/7 helpline and other stuff included in the quote. It's pricey, but if you're going someplace where medical costs would be out of pocket, we found it worthwhile. (granted the trips quoted above were ski/hiking/back country adventuring and we damn well wanted to make sure we could get back home in case of emergency)

This is the website but you can also use the AMEX travel desk- who are amazing helpful by the way, and talk to them.

I typically use insuremytrip.com which gives you instant quotes from several reputable insurance cos at the same time, such as AMEX, global, etc.

The major differences in pricing will always be related to what is covered and for how much money your trip cancellation/interruption coverage provides. Some cover luggage delays as well. And some cover medical costs while overseas if you get sick, including evacuation back to the United States (highly recommended if you're going to a 3rd world country). Make sure to read the coverage offers carefully to select what you need and nothing more.
