Can I make my USB PS3 Singstar microphones work with my Wii?

I have a pair of wireless USB Singstar microphones for my PS3 [1]. I now have a karaoke game for my Wii [2] and I was hoping to use my current microphones with the Wii.

The microphones are USB, so I was hoping they would just work, but that Glee game doesn't seem to recognise them. The wireless base station for the microphones takes just one USB slot, but there are two microphones, so I suppose they are non-standard in some way. Is there anything I can do?

Best answer: They're different - the PS3 microphones are actually a standard USB audio, but the singstar game checks for the sony USB ID (you can actually make them go on windows/linux/mac for use with, say, performous or ultrastar). This is evidenced by the fact that, although the rockband microphone is _also_ USB audio, it does not work with singstar (tho the guitar hero and rockband ones _are_ interchangable).

The Wii microphones are more custom, as near as I can tell - and of course the Wii games require this. I've seen the wii microphone usb adaptor for about $10 locally. While there is possibly a peripheral that converts ps3->wii, it'll cost more than that. You may just have to suck it up.

Response by poster: Thanks. I bought the wii microphones instead (from Wii Sing). They are rubbish quality in comparison to the PS3 singstar mics, but at least they work with the Wii.
