Where to go in Portland, OR for New Year's Eve?

Help some out-of-towners enjoy Portland, OR on New Year's Eve! Our ideal evening would be close to the MAX, and include a strip club, dancing to hopefully not top 40 music, and drinking of course. Should we go to an organized NYE party, or try to barhop? Any places we just can't miss/ hidden gems you're willing to divulge? We will be a group of 8 guys and gals. You guys helped me find an awesome place to camp this fall, so I'm hoping you have more great ideas!
Your best bet is going to be downtown, and I would tend towards something organized. Downtown PDX gets ridiculous on amateur drinking nights. Be aware that the all of Trimet is free from 8pm on, and the last MAX runs leave around 3am.
As for strip clubs in the downtown area:
Mary's Club: divey but not scary, usually charges a $2 cover.
Magic Gardens: Very divey. 1 drink minimum.
Spyce: They typically charge a $7 cover on weekend nights, they will probably try to charge more. I'm never a fan of this place.
Club Rouge: Never been there.
Silverado: This is a male strip club, and I imagine would be a hoot on NYE if you are that way inclined.
Cabaret: No longer exists downtown, but a lot of maps still show it.
If you cross the river, Sassy's and Union Jacks are other good choices for strip clubs that aren't a terribly far walk. The East Burnside area (between Grand and 11th) might be a good choice for bar hopping places like Rontoms, Doug Fir, etc.

I'm not a clubby person by any means, but Embers, Holoscene and Doug Fir were all likely clubs for my friends who are. Dante's is also worth checking out. You should be able to see who's playing from their calendars and see if they're any good.
This being Portland and all, they're all convienently located to strip clubs, such as Mary's and Union Jacks on west and east Burnside respectively. I've never been to either but they both come up alot also.

Holocene is hosting a New Year's dance party, Sassy's is across the street. Dig a Pony is the trendy new bar a couple blocks away, but Green Dragon is a little closer with good beer and less atmosphere, and My Father's Place is your dive bar/diner if you need a little downtime. Line 15 bus will get you there from downtown.
