Google Chrome will only whisper to me.

When I am viewing flash-based streaming video like Hulu, Netflix or Youtube in Google's Chrome browser, the volume is only half as loud as when I watch the same content in Firefox.
I am running Windows XP Home on an Acer x1420g-u5832.
Chrome has no extensions. I've uninstalled and reinstalled flash. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. My google fu has failed me on this issue--
thanks for any suggestions.

Response by poster: I should add that at two different times the volume in Chrome quit completely and returned when I reinstalled flash.

Response by poster: There is a Firefox mixer, but it is all the way up, and Chrome is the partially-muted browser.

Response by poster: Ok, I just learned that Chrome has its own slider control, and that I have to scroll over in the mixer window to find it. Thank you, Mr. Griphus. If you are the owner of an I-device then PM me an email address and I will gift you an app!

Well that's it, right? Chrome is the one where all of the volumes seem half as loud? And it's the one that's partially muted? Pump that bad boy up!

I've seen a time or two where the Chrome slider will automatically go down to 20% from 100%. Have no idea why yet, but I'm working on it.
