Too Pooped to Popmonitor

My upgrade to Lion killed off my favorite little mailserver app in the world!
I like to check my email on the mailserver before downloading. For years I'd used a little app/utility called Popmonitor (http://www.popmonitor.com) but Lion doesn't support it.
I use Thunderbird, not Apple's Mail app.
I've Googled and found similar apps but they are all for PC. Does anyone know of something akin to Popmonitor that will let me continue to perform this function on a Mac?

Best answer: You can actually have Thunderbird function like Popmonitor does and only download the headers for review, but with the added bonus of being able to simply double-click the messages you want to download to read them instead of having to switch between applications.
You'll find this feature in Tools -> Account Settings -> Server Settings -> Fetch Headers Only.

Response by poster: Thanks. I am using that now with Thunderbird (re 'headers only) but prefer something like the interface PM offered.

Thunderbird is very customizable. Which PM features and/or ways-of-doing-stuff do you miss?
