Help us find some PBR in Amsterdam?

I am a student living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I have a friend who has never been exposed to horror that is Pabst Blue Ribbon, and our morbid curiosity makes us want to track some down. Are there any bars/pubs/supermarkets that sell it?

I don't recall seeing it in any of the foreign food stores around here, but beyond that we have not searched much. Any ideas?

And I do apologize if you like PBR. I don't

Years ago there was an American food shop in central Amsterdam that used to sell lots of different US products, but I can't remember the name; google is giving me this place, which I think might be it: http://insego.com/profiles/blogs/for-americans-amp-british. I don't remember if they had booze or not, though.

If you're willing to hop on a train and know someone in the US military, a German army base might be your best option. Or if you know someone in the US embassy, a lot of those have their own shops.

Why would anyone in Holland want PBR....

I definitely never saw it when I lived there, but I did a Google search in Dutch and came across an American bar in Amsterdam.
They list the beers they have, and PBR is not on it, but they might know how to get a hold of it.

These people claim to ship from the UK for a hefty sum. You could maybe add some hard to get British beer to make it worthwhile...

Remember to drink it warm, to get the full bouquet.

Have you tried contacting them here?

Make it a day trip and jump on the Thalys to Brussels and visit the Delirium Cafe. Can't say I ever ordered a bottle of PBR there, but they have a gigantic selection of beer from around the world and I'm willing to bet they'll have what you need.

Response by poster: Lots of excellent suggestions. I will leave this open in case someone comes up with a specific answer, otherwise thank you!

@lesbiasparrow I have an uncle who works at one of the bases in Germany, I will be visiting him by train in a month. It had not occurred to me to ask him, so thank you for the suggestion

You could try De Bierkoning. I doubt they sell it, but they may have an idea of where you can buy it.

You could also ask at In de Wildeman. Again, I doubt they stock PBR, but they do have a huge selection. Be prepared to be mocked a little bit for your request. ;)

Response by poster: @neushoorm of course :-) But my friend and I watched the south park finale and now she wants to know what the fuss is about

There was an international beer shop on the south side of the dam ... they had my favorite mildly-obscure Australian beers ... they will probably have PBR

I'm surprised I didn't post in this thread when it was new. BeerTemple may have some or know where to find some.
