Gallery Wrap Photo Company Recommendations

Any recommendations for inexpensive, but good quality, gallery wrap photo companies? Online or in Portland, Oregon?

I am submitting some images for a very low-key, not very high end photo show and wanted to do gallery wrapped images.

Looking to spend as little as possible but definitely under $50, preferably in the $30-40 range for a 11x17 or less likely 16x20.

Ideally looking for personal recommendations.

Best answer: I've used ZazaGallery for several canvases and the quality seems fine, but they don't really meet your price requirement.

Best answer: Check with sign making companies in your area, you might find some good prices locally. The output will likely be on vinyl and not have tucked corners but that's how they save money. Shipping canvas prints isn't cheap so it's best to pick up anyway.

Even with a stretching machine, canvas wrapping is skilled labour and takes time, along with the specialized materials, which must be paid for. You're hoping to pay about half to a third of the going rate for fine art quality gallery wrapped canvas, so make sure your expectations for the result are in accord.

Best answer: CanvasOnDemand.com has done a great job for me. Art print quality.

They have a Groupon (sign up for southern california inland empire I think) that comes up about every 3 months for a 16x20 1.5" wrap for $45 including shipping.

It prints just a tad hot, so tone down your highest highlights about 5%, but otherwise very nice. They have a downloadable icc profile you can soft proof with, imo, accurate.

Highly recommended.

Response by poster: Thanks all, I figured my expectation regarding quality to price ratio was skewed but a local shop that last year quoted $14/sqft for a finished piece just quoted me $120 for an 11x17. Just wanted to see what the market rate vis-a-vis it was and get some options.

A friend of mine was in Bend last weekend, and for $30, sent a photo from his hotel room to the nearest Walmart, and a couple of hours later picked up his 16x20 "Faux Canvas" gallery wrap. He also saw a coupon for $10 off.

At that link I see 10 stores in the Portland area.
