Doctors in Toronto's west end.

OK, so I need to see a doctor (in Toronto).
I injured my back a couple of weeks ago, and it has improved twice but then gotten worse again each time (this has happened before, but normally it goes away on its own). I guess I need to see a doctor. Problem is, I haven't had a GP since I moved back to Toronto. Does anyone know a good GP who is accepting new patients?
Additional (special snowflake-y) details: Ideally, I'm looking for someone in the west end or near to Bloor & Yonge. Preferably someone a little progressive regarding how people choose to live their lives, and who doesn't immediately go for a chemical solution. Any sort of background in sports medicine would be a plus. I am, however, not looking for a chiropractor.

Well there's mine, at St. Clair and Avenue, which is accepting. There is a sports practitioner at the practice. Although he isn't specifically accepting new patients he does do minor surgery there. As for the progressive aspect, in my family's experience they're fairly open-minded. (They donate their parking lot over to the UU church directly opposite every Sunday, after all.)

Wellpoint Family Medical @ 1240 Bay St. (just above the Subway station) has a couple of newer doctors who I believe have practices that are open. Dr. Rubin & Dr. McGee.

Last time I checked, he was accepting new patients. I give him a qualified recommendation because his practice is really busy, so he does not have much time to spare. I know you are not looking for a chiropractor, but I believe QPH has one on the staff.
