Can you help identify my painting?

Trying to identify an on oil on canvas painting that was painted over. Maybe a hidden treasure? Could I email anyone a pic of the painting for ID? Driving me crazy that I don't know name or artisit of the painted-over pic!
Not anywhere near enough information here. Not even a location to offer you a local resource.
My usual suggestion: Most auction houses offer complimentary verbal auction value estimates with no obligation to consign (though they'll have hopes of retaining your business). Find your most reputable local one, make an appointment or see if they're having a clinic, and take it there; or email them including all information and any provenance, with clear, good quality images - front, back, sides and detail - attached, and they may be able to offer a referral if they're not able to help you themselves.

Do you have the painting, or are you referring to a famous case, like the painted over Rembrandt?
