Movie, orphans, terrible memory. All meet here for party!

Name-the-MovieFilter: Help me identify the name of this heartwarming movie I saw as a youth. Orphanage moving, with much difficulty, very far away. I think there was also a nun.

The title pretty much says it all, this would have been seen on cable TV in the early to mid 1990s in the US.

All I can remember of the plot involves a small orphanage of about 20 or less orphans being moved or closed. Thereafter ensues a long distance move. Perhaps 1000 miles or something? Some round number sticks in my mind. Ditto for the title, perhaps something about "The first step". I may be making any or all of that up. There may have also been a priest involved.

Thanks for the help on this one.

Tricolor Marshals of Billingham?

Response by poster: Cerulean: I'd love to check but routine googling is providing nothing on the phrase "Tricolor Marshals of Billingham" or "Marshals of Billingham".

I also should add that I think this move took place in a third, or at least second, world country. Perhaps Asian but I don't want to be held to that.

Best answer: If it's not "Inn", it might be "The Longest Hundred Miles", which also apparently popularized the song "500 Miles". Just thought I'd add this since you mentioned a round number of miles being important.

Response by poster: Oh crap. Looking at that it could be either. I'll have to delve deeper to figure it out. That name sounds VERY much better than "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness" but both plots / character sets seem ok.

I'm marking this as resolved because it HAS to be one of those two. Now if only Netflix has them.....
