hotel in Bogota?

Can you recommend me a hotel in downtown Bogotá, Colombia?
I'll be staying in Bogotá for a few days, and I would like to stay somewhere downtown, not too expensive, and where I can walk around to see the city. Also, since I'll be arriving pretty late at night, it would be great if the hotel is easy to get to from the airport.

OH, try Club Colombia if you want a good typical Colombian meal. It's a nicer restaurant, not exactly a local hole in the wall, but very good.

I've not really found Bogota to be the most "walkable" cities.
Stay away from The Sheraton near the airport. As a hotel it's fine, but in a dull part of town.
Embassy Suites is not too bad. You can walk around the neighborhood, but its pretty small and appeals to the expat crowd.
Hotel La Fonda is cool. There are a few places nearby to walk too but mostly its a only mall in that area.
Dann hotels are a nice local chain. In downtown La Candelaria is cool and historical. I don't know any hotels there but I do not it's not safe at night.
Check around Parque 93 and La Zona Rosa if you want secure neighborhoods.
One more thing, GET A PARTY CREW together if possible and go to Andres Carne de Res in Chia outside of the city. You will be dancing salsa on the tables and hanging from the ceiling by night's end. The one in Bogota isn't the same.
