Requested video cannot be displayed in your region

In the last few days I've received this message when trying to watch local content on CBC or Radio Canada: "The requested video cannot be displayed in your region". Perplexed because I am actually in Canada. Has my IP address been compromised? Is there a somewhat easy not too techy fix out there.
Response by poster: Thanks for that. Did not know about iplookup. I'm seeing:
IP : 24.53.19.245
Host : modemcable245.19-53-24.mc.videotron.ca
Country : Canada
Maybe there is a prob with CBC & Radio Canada

Could be that whatever service CBC is using for its GeoIP thinks that particular IP block is not in Canada.
I have a friend who lives in the same neighburhood as I do, and has the same ISP. His IP is often reported as being in California, while mine is in British Columbia. He can watch Hulu and all that stuff without a proxy.

CBC and Radio Canada probably use one commercial databases that attempt to map IP address to geographic regions. According to ARIN, the IP address block 24.53.0.0/18 (24.53.0.0 - 24.53.63.255) was delegated to Le Groupe Videotron on 2011-09-06, less than a month ago. It's likely that whatever database they are using hasn't been updated with this information yet. You can probably contact CBC and Radio Canada and ask them to add the aforementioned block of IP addresses to the ones that they permit to access their content.

Yes. second RichardP's comment.
Probably because it's relatively new.
Contact them with the ARIN link and tell them you're in Canada; the issue seems to be that the IP is newly delegated.
