Finding games for an ancient iPod Touch

I've got a first generation iPod Touch which apparently can only be upgraded as far as iOS version 2.2.1. The thing has been sitting in a drawer for awhile but now my kid is old enough to use it, and I'd like to install some games, but when I go to the iTunes Store, everything seems to require a more recent version of iOS. There doesn't seem to be a way to filter apps by max iOS version (or am I missing something?) Is there any other way to find games that will run on this device?

Best answer: I have a first generation and updated it as far as 3.1 or 3.2. I can't remember how I did it now, but it wasn't just an automatic update. Google it and follow the instructions.

Once you do that there are quite a number of games that will work.

Best answer: You need to purchase the update.

You'll find plenty of games.

I've got a 1st gen Touch. Games I enjoy include skeeball, flick fishing, and angry birds. I also have air traffic control, cro-mag rally, and doodle jump. All of them work as advertised.
