Will I Get The Pats/Jets Game on Dish Network Help

I need help figuring out if the Patriots Jets game will be shown locally on Dish Network on 10/09/11. I have some diehard Pats fans visiting and will need to come up with other arrangements if it won't be shown.
I live in Hillsville, Virginia zip 24343 and have Dish Network. From the sleuthing I've done it looks like CBS will be showing the game, but I don't know if the game they show varies by region. I can't find a tv guide that goes further than 2 weeks into the future. Does anyone have any ideas about how to confirm whether this game will be on? Thanks!

This website offers coverage maps that show which games are shown by local affiliates. They normally don't publish the maps until the week of the game.

I *believe* the Pats game is nationally televised, as we are getting it here in the Midwest, and we rarely get Pats games. Does Dish Network not give you info if you highlight the right time/channel/game?

Best answer: OK, my best guess is that you will get the game in your area.
According to the link I gave above, either CBS or FOX gets a doubleheader each Sunday (except for week 17). For the 4pm games the week that the Jets-Pats play, CBS is covering that game as well as Broncos-Chargers. FOX, on the other hand, only has the Bucs-49ers. So it stands to reason that CBS will get the doubleheader. And given that the Jets-Pats is the most interesting game of the bunch, it will likely be the nationally televised game. And since you don't live in the Rockies or California, you'll probably get the nationally televised game (Jets-Pats), and not the Bucs-49ers.

Looks like BobbyVan beat me to the punch -- that collection of NFL maps was also recently featured on Kottke.

Worst case scenario - if you absolutely must have this game played in your house -
you could always just buy the NFL Sunday Ticket. For $35 per month, you get every NFL game. You could buy the package, pay for the month of October, then cancel the package.

Don't do this. The Sunday Ticket packages typically have no-refund/no-cancel agreements. The $35/month is a for a full year despite the regular season only being 4 months.

Do your diehard guests, or you, know anyone in New England who has a Slingbox?

Response by poster: I don't know anyone with a slingbox unfortunately. Sounds like a good chance we will get the game. Thanks everyone!

Getting a Season Pass from Direct TV will get them all, but that seems to be overkill for one game.
Any sports bar will have it on.
