Where did I read this?

I'm trying to find an article or blog post I've read within the last couple of weeks.

To be honest, I don't remember the specific topic. It had to do with innovation and business (and maybe computer programming?), but I can't really remember more than that. What keeps sticking in my head though, is a line about how intelligence, ideas and hard work were too often credited with fantastic success, rather than simply being a necessary ingredient of success. The author likened stories like Facebook's to winning the lottery, which is a thought I've had often.

I know that's pretty thin, but I've been trying to figure out for days where I've read this. It's like having something stuck in my teeth that I can't get out. AAAAARRRGH.

Was it this NYMag article (posted on the blue by maggieb yesterday)?

I don't know, but Google has a Blog Search page, and searching for "intelligence ideas hard work success facebook lottery" in the past month returned over 1,800 articles. Maybe it's somewhere in there? Good luck.
