Taittinger Comtes de Champagne in Chicago?

Where in the Chicago area can I find a bottle of Taittinger Comtes de Champagne? I like the vintages from the 2000s; they run about $120-$150 a bottle. I tried Chicago Wine Co., but they only sell the older vintages from the 90s or earlier, which are at least double the price. Same with House of Glunz. Any high-end wine shops that might be a good bet? The choices are somewhat overwhelming. Thanks!

Best answer: Wine-Searcher is great for this.

It appears Hart Davis Hart has the 2000 vintage and Epic Cellars (in Richmond) has the 2003 vintage.

Best answer: Seconding wine-searcher as the way to find this. I've bought a handful of bottles from HDH and have been happy with the experience. Epic cellars is run by someone I used to buy an awful lot of wine from when she worked at Premier Cru out here on the west coast. I think you'll be in good hands with either shop.

Best answer: Kobrand is the US importer for Taittinger. If you call them, they'll be able to let you know who their Chicago-area distributor is. Then you can call the distributor and ask what retail outlets they sell it to.

Best answer: Call Binny's. Anything that can legally be brought into Illinois can be ordered through Binny's. They show a 2000 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs with limited in store availability on their website, but they do special orders.

Response by poster: You guys are geniuses; thank you! I opted to go for a local place that would not need to ship (though it does look like HDH allows pickup), so I called Binny's and they had a 2000 vintage that I could go pick up from the store. Best Answers all around.
