Adirondack Weddings

My fiance and I would like to get married somewhere in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. We were thinking of a small, intimate wedding possibly at a lodge. Any suggestions?

I don't have an exact location, but have a look around Saranac Lake, it's a great town for a wedding.

Check out Jimbo's club on Brant Lake. Don't let the name fool you, during the summer it's actually an expensive fancy-pants sleepaway camp. Gorgeous.

Also I had a friend get married at the old girl scout camp at silver moon bay on Lake George and it was really lovely. Very adirondak-y.

or if you've got a bigger budget, Lake Placid Lodge...it doesn't get any better than that

Garnet Hill Lodge, North River. Their web site says there's a train that runs from Saratoga Springs to North River, which your guests might like. I haven't been to a wedding at Garnet Hill, or been there in decades, but I recall a wedding going on when I was there for dinner. It was a pretty setting for a simple wedding and still quite rustic. It's not on the water, though, so it might not be the place if you're going to do one of those canoe-to-the-ceremony entrances that I've heard about in the Adirondacks.

I guarantee that venues in or around Lake George have what you want.

I've always dreamed of going to Mohonk Mountain House.
