Any recommendations for books (fiction or non-fiction), maps or websites on the events of the year 1900 in or around Paris. English only, I'm afraid. Many thanks!
Best answer: David McCullough's new book 'The Greater Journey' includes that time period. The focus is all on Americans coming to Paris.

Best answer: Does it have to be exactly 1900, or is the last decade of the 19th century OK? If so, check out Eiffel's Tower.

Best answer: I asked the same question a few years ago & got some good answers.

Best answer: The Crimes of Paris - more well-rounded than the title would have you believe. It focuses a great deal on the cultural, social and political changes in Paris around the turn of the century, and the popular imagination that arose from that. The Mona Lisa story is just a hook to get you sucked in :)
