There's a lot of Kevin Smith interviews... I need a specific one

LazywebFilter. I'm looking for a recent, and specific interview with Kevin Smith wherein he talks about how he kept saying he wanted to be a filmmaker, and his decision to actually make a movie.

I'm pretty sure this was in the last 6 months to a year. Kevin explained that he'd wanted to be a filmmaker for a year, but someone finally told him, or he realized that he needed to, essentially, shit or get off the pot, and actually make a film so he could call himself a filmmaker.

Thanks!

On his birthday podcast of Plus One Per Diem, he talks about what he was doing 20 years ago and how that year kicked off his life as filmmaker. It may not be exactly what you're looking for (it was about 3 weeks ago), but should be a jumping off point.

It was his sister - it was an episode of SModcast that had his sister.

Pretty sure it was this one, which replayed on SIR very recently.

In case you want to hear it from the horse's mouth, he talks about the same conversation with his sister in the podcast I linked to, with a little more context than in the interview.

Glad you found it!
