Remixed Love Is All You Need

Remixed/Remastered Beatles songs? I love the 1999 Yellow Submarine Songtrack versions of the songs. I know a few years ago we got a remastered catalogue but it doesn't have the same pop or zip as the Yellow Submarine Songtrack. Has anyone done a bootleg remixing/remastering with similar results to the Yellow Submarine Songtrack?

Best answer: The Purple Chick series includes remixes, which is what you're liking about the Songtrack. Not everything in the series is as dramatic as the Songtrack, but you should find some of them satisfying; I remember the alternate Beatles for Sale as having some noticeable differences.

Best answer: If what you're looking for is remixes, the LOVE album was pretty good. There were a couple mashups (a really good medley of What You're Doing, Drive my Car and The Word, and Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows) but for the most part it was remixes. The songs flowed from one to the next like the medley on Abbey Road, or the Avalanche's Since I Left You.

Other than that, there haven't been any stereo remixes, at least not that I know of. Have you tried the mono releases? All the albums up until Abbey Road were recorded primarily mono, and Apple came out with a mono box set that sounded much better than the stereo ones. There are also some nice sounding needle drops that are easy to find via torrent or just googling. Dr. Ebbets made a lot of these, but he stopped after the new remasters.
