Help me find a good Search/Index solution for PHP

What are the best search/indexing solutions for a PHP site?
I need a search engine for an under-construction PHP site running under Windows. It needs to be able to search and index through user profiles in the database, and pdf resumes that the users upload. It will eventually be combined with the Sovren resume parser (it's a job related site). Could those of you with experience out there give me some guidance in terms of what would be the best solution? Our company is willing to pay, so it doesn't need to be free (or open source).
