Help me find a forest green bridesmaid dress!

I am a bridesmaid in a close friend's wedding. She chose a color (forest green) but let us find our own dresses. I am having a hard time finding something with the appropriate shade, level of formality, and within my price range (about $150). I figured I'd tap the hivemind and see what you guys could come up with.

Here is the inspiration photo and another one.

The only other requirement is that it is about knee length.

Thanks in advance guys!

I can't make the links work -- are there photos online and not in your google mail?

You don't mention where you are located - I am guessing in the US? But if you happen to be in Australia, Mr K makes a variety of bridesmaids dresses, in a variety of colours, for quite reasonable prices.

You can go straight for the bridesmaids styles at David's Bridal (the interface is a bit weird, but there are a bit more than 3 pages of results in that dark green color). There are several options for cocktail-length, sub-$150.

When is the wedding? Because forest green is more of a fall/winter color, so if you can wait a few weeks you may start to see the color appear in stores.

Response by poster: Sorry, I'm not sure where she got the other photos. They were emailed and I guess local to my computer? Anyway this is close enough to give you an idea of the color. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA, and the wedding is early September. Brainmouse: Yeah, I was thinking about just doing the David's Bridal thing too if all else fails.

Check out Alfred Angelo. They have tons of bridesmaid dresses that can be made in just about any color. Looks like there are a couple of signature AA stores in the Pittsburgh area! They may have something in stock or be able to have something sent ASAP.

This website seems to have tons of bridesmaids gowns in your price range.

It's not exactly the same green, but I like this dress at Banana Republic.

Also, this dress and this dress from Nordstroms.

This dress at JCrew might work in your budget with a coupon code.

I think this is where I went last for Bridesmaid dresses in Pittsburgh and did well:

Ann Taylor has dresses in what they call "bottle green", like this one. Shabby Apple makes (rewearable) dresses in a green color too.

Watters (including their cheaper Wtoo line) has Olive, Emerald, Flora, Forest... you can search by colour. Here are all the dresses in Forest. (Keep scrolling; they dye up very different shades depending on the fabric.)

Anthropologie has a gorgeous dress in that color right now that meets your criteria. They don't seem to have it online but I would swing by a store if they have one in pgh before going for standard bridesmaid stores.

Looks like Ann Taylor has a bunch in green. Try this Silk Dupioni Scoopneck Bridesmaid Dress - or this Strapless Dupioni Dress. If the links don't work, the color is called "Bottle Green."

Aria dresses are nice - you can pick the style and color. It looks like they have a "Peacock Green" in shantung silk. You can order a swatch to see the color in person.

Simple Dress does a similar service, and they have a few greens which might work: perhaps the Fern or Forest would be a good choice.

Jenny Yoo has a Shantung in "Bottle Green."

Lula Kate has a number of greens; in Shantung, Basil, Swamp and Bottle might be worth investigating.

Depending on your body type, this could be super cute. And it looks really comfortable (and definitely could be worn again.)

Is this BR Sheath Dress too light?

Hunter Green one-shoulder chiffon.

Ruffle Collar stretch satin.

Komarov Faux Wrap Jersey Dress

Tahari by Arthur S. Levine Ruffle Skirt Shantung Dress

Elie Tahari One Shoulder Charmeuse Dress

DSQUARED2 3/4 length dress ($540, but cute)

That's pretty much the colour and style of the dress I used as my wedding dress. I got at at a local little bridal boutique, after having tried a big David's Bridal store and hunted for days.

I simply walked in and told the owner what I was after and she bought me out the perfect dress in the right size. I'd suggest maybe trying a smaller bridal store owner operated one, they are usually super helpful and know there stock. They can often times order things in the colours you want if you find a style you like. I unfortunately have the dress packed away and can't remember the brand. It cost me $140 with alterations. You can always get a longer dress shortened if you have the time too, it doesn't really cost that much, but it might be something to consider.

Response by poster: Thanks so much everyone! I decided to go with the bottle green from Ann Taylor. With the automatic 30% off, it was exactly $150. ;) Yay for not breaking my graduate student budget! I'll put up some pics after the wedding.

Awesome! And that's definitely a good price for a bridesmaid dress. Have fun!
