Lets talk about - something, somewhere

Help me find a website that I can only vaguely describe. I know you can do it!

About a month ago, I read an article in the New York Times that mentioned a website where intelligent people went to discuss things (no, silly, not MetaFilter!). I want to say that it even had the name "Discuss" in it, but I'm not quite sure about that. I went to the site and I sort of remember that the homepage had a sort of "house" metaphor going on, but, sadly, I apparently didn't bookmark that site and now I'd like to show it to a friend of mine, but, amazingly, I can't find it again despite the wealth of detail I was just able to give you guys regarding it.

Does my description sound familiar to anyone about anything? Does anyone know of any sites similar to a discussion-type site? Thanks for your help.

I will eat hats if it's anything other than Disqus.

But Disqus looks like an add-in to a website, not a place you go to discuss something... ? I could be mistaken, given my just-now cursory glance.

Damn, I'm sorry. I know the site OP is talking about, but I can't remember what it is. I thought it was Disqus because of the graphic they had. I'm pretty sure the site was referenced on Ask MeFi before this (I found it here).

Disqus is a commenting system for blogs. There are discussions there, but not independent of the blog posts they are attached to.

Best answer: Yeah, if it's not THINQon, THEN I'll eat hats.

Thanks for asking this question - I remember looking at Thinqon when it launched but had forgotten to bookmark it.
