I'm looking for a cheap scanner for my ibook running Tiger, something like the Canoscan 3000ex for $50, that works ok.

Does anyone know if this is the "ScanJet" - I couldn't find anything on HP.com about any other type of "2400" scanner that worked on the Mac other than a ScanJet, and OfficeMax's site doesn't say...

Response by poster: According to HP's UK site, the scanjet 2400 has drivers for OS X 10.1:
"Compatible Operating Systems
Microsoft® Windows® (98, 2000, Me, XP Home and Professional Edition), Mac OS X 9.1 or 10.1 and higher"
Five bucks! Tempting!

Response by poster: succumbed.
However, it appears that Tiger/Ibook doesn't recognize the scanjet. It works fine with my aging pc, however.
There have been other reports of Tiger sending HP Scanjets into purgatory.
