Help me Find These Two Great Animated Shorts

I am trying to recall two awesome animated shorts. Both may have been shown during an animation festival circa mid-90s in San Francisco (possibly Spike & Mike). Details post-jump.
The first short was a pseudo-documentary with narration from an 'alien' source about the people of Earth -- except it's narrated as though the cars are Earth's inhabitants. At the very end, a bunch of humans come jumping out of a car happily and the narrator is somewhat perplexed by their presence.
The second one was about a world who realizes their universe is about to end because they are the dream of a sleeping person. They hatch a plan to break into the 'real world' to hit the snooze button (or maybe turn off the alarm?) thus buying themselves milllions of more years of existence.
I remember them both as fantastic and would love to see them again.

Best answer: The second one may be RARG. It can be found here
