It's not rooted yet but that's probably coming

Previously, but 7 months is a long time in mobile phone software. Are there new, good apps for a couple who both have Android phones?

These are our first smartphones, so I'm open to general suggestions too. But I'm mostly looking for nifty ways to use the phones to make our lives easier, like the grocery list suggested in the previously.

I like the sound of bump and would definitely get it if my partner had an Android.

also jinx for asking an android question at almost the exact same time as me

Bump isn't quite as useful as you'd hope, imho. It's kinda limited as to what you can transfer.

Tasker.

Wunderlist. Auto syncing lists is awesome. I just set up an account that my roommate and I can both access, and we never have to fight about not having tp.

Little known Android secret, holding down the search button triggers voice command. It will let you call people, compose texts, queue up music; but the killer bit is navigation. "Navigate to [address/place/contact]" calls up the rather excellent Google Maps* nav, and it's incredibly handy to just shout an address at your phone while you're starting up your car**.

* There's a handful of Verizon phones that are set up with Bing services instead, if you're one of them you'll have to install Maps from the Market yourself.

** It also does on-foot, biking, and (very recently) public transit navigation as well.

We use OurGroceries for synced grocery and other lists ... also can access from the web. BabyESP is a must have if you have small children ... syncs records of baby care tasks, medicine doses, etc. Also lets you e-mail the records for printing and to take to the pediatrician and so on. Also useful for tracking one's own medication schedule. :)

Those are my two fave two-people apps ... I'm also currently high on Llama as an easier, less battery intensive profile manager than Tasker, though not appropriate for all needs and not as flexible currently.
