Where are the best examples of firstlast.com websites?

I'm looking for great examples of personal/professional web sites. Can you point me to great examples of clean, easy to navigate and read sites with contact information, resumes, current projects, social networking links and maybe a personal blog? I'm looking for the kinds of sites that show up at www.firstnamelastname.com for professional, self-employed, types who could be looking for contract or permanent employment.
I'm not opposed to coding by hand or perhaps paying for a wordpress template. I'm most interested in projecting professionalism.

It's a bit..er...loud, but I love Jamie Varon's style.

Just as an FYI, some of these look like they were built with flavors.me

Response by poster: I think I the vision i have of my site may be more academic than designy. The examples above (most of them) are clearly well done but are a little "busier" than I want. Any others? Thanks.

jz, I'm not sure that this is how I would design it, but is this researcher's site along the lines of what you're looking for?
(disclosure: I met this guy professionally a couple times back in the late 90s)

MerlinMann.com and DanBenjamin.com are both on the super simple and readable side.
Lots of academics use Google Sites to lay out a simple CV. Here's mine. It's easy to make tabbed pages, which I like a bunch, and it prevents me from having to pay for hosting. I can be real cheap sometimes.

I used the MiniCard theme for WordPress for my "business card" site.

Maybe mine is a little flashier than you're looking for, but I've been told that people tend to scan very quickly over a page and pictures help in capturing interest. The majority of my portfolio consists of writing samples hidden behind pretty pictures.

Tim Van Damme popularized the MiniCard theme that epersonae mentions - there's a wall of shame/fame on the bottom right of his minicard for more examples.
