Odd Firefox behavior

I've been ignoring a number of minor Firefox bugs but I've finally had enough. Help! The Linky! extension doesn't work. The Conquery extension doesn't work. I select text but then I get an empty dialog prompting me for search text.

The Del.icio.us extension doesn't work. I can "bookmark clicked link" but I can't "bookmark current page". Nothing happens. The Turbo feature of the DownThemAll extension doesn't work. It doesn't recognize that I've selected text.

These behaviors all appeared at the same time a few weeks ago and they feel like they might be related in a way that I don't understand.

Win2k. Firefox 1.03. Anything else?

Close Firefox. Go into your Firefox profile. Rename pres.js to prefs.js.bak

Restart Firefox. See if the bugs are still there.

Upgrade to Firefox 1.04. Create a new profile. Install your extensions under the new profile.

Betcha it works. I'm no help in telling you why it happened, though.

These aren't Firefox bugs; they're extension bugs.

Extensions can interfere with one another. They can also get corrupted. Remove the ones that don't work and restart Firefox, one at a time, and then reinstall them one at a time, watching for misbehavior. (Oh, do a check before you start the second cycle.) You may have to decide between two that you like.
