reproductive clinic in Pittsburgh?

Can anyone recommend a women's reproductive clinic in/near Pittsburgh, PA?

I'm concerned I might be pregnant, and I'd like to get checked out by a doctor - but for various reasons, I'm not comfortable going to my GP. I do not currently have an OB-GYN.

My periods are fairly regular, though I'm on a longer cycle than most women - every six weeks. I got my period more or less on schedule on 29 May, lasting the rest of that week. However, this past Sunday afternoon I started to experience bleeding again, not quite so heavy as my period but more than spotting. Nothing much otherwise in the way of symptoms, other than a heavy dose of paranoia. Dr. Google tells me this could be the result of anything from stress to pregnancy to miscarriage to ectopic pregnancy to cancer. Naturally, I'd like to do some ruling out. An over-the-counter pregnancy test came up negative, but as I just had my period a couple of weeks ago, I'm not sure how accurate it would be anyway. I know it doesn't make much sense to have had my period and then be pregnant two weeks later, but again, I just kind of want to rule it out.

If it turns out that I am pregnant, I'd like to terminate the pregnancy, hopefully at the same clinic. Not necessarily the same day, but that would be better if at all possible.

My boyfriend just went out of town for work and most likely won't be back until the weekend of the Fourth of July, and I don't have anyone else that I'm really comfortable confiding in, so I'm freaking out a bit at the moment. Any help/advice you'd be able to give will be much, much appreciated.

I have friends who have been treated well at Planned Parenthood at their downtown location.

I'm in Pittsburgh; if you want someone to go with you to the clinic, or pick you up afterward, or anything, please memail me.

PP is great. So is Allegheny Reprodutctive Health Center, in East Liberty. I used to clinic escort both places and I think the world of both.

I'm carless so I can't offer a ride, but I'd gladly meet you somewhere and go with you, if it would help. Take care, and feel free to MeFiMail me.

Yes, Planned Parenthood is a great option. They can fit you in right away in an emergency, and I believe they work on a sliding fee scale.

When I lived in PGH a few years ago, Magee-Women's Hospital also worked on a sliding fee scale.

Sadly, same day abortion isn't possible in Pennsylvania. There's a mandatory 24 hour delay.

If you end up looking for a regular GYN, I highly, highly recommend the University of Pittsburgh Physicians Department of Gynecologic Specialties at Magee. 412-641-6412 (Not that they wouldn't be able to help you in this case, just that they're also around for long term care.)

Sadly I've got the contact info right in front of me because my awesome amazing doctor is leaving to go to UC-Davis, but I've never had anyone there, from the booking/billing/nurses/doctors treat me as anything but gold. (And I've had some other doctors in Pgh treat me less than stellar due to my decision to not have kids.)

I think the other folk may have you covered for rides and companionship, but if you need anything - chicken soup, a cup of tea, someone to email support or cartoons or stupid stuff to make you laugh - memail me.
