Where is the best beard-trimming professional in San Francisco?
I'd love to harvest your suggestions for a great barbershop in the Bay Area for my friend who is picky but not pretentious about his hair and beard. It'd be neat to find a place with sensible barbers who have a lot of experience, are willing to answer lots of questions, and are happy to follow specific requests (even if somewhat unusual/non-traditional). It'd also be nice if they don't require reservations far in advance. Cost isn't that big a deal if it's worth it. What can you recommend? Thanks so much!

My dad has been going to Catalano's on Irving at 17th for YEARS. It's a one man shop, the proprietor is semi-retired, and my dad always looks fabulous.
