Buying last minute tickets from dealers at the door of the Music Hall of Williamsburg... possible?

I want to see the Melvins tonight (June 7th) at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, but a Craigslist search is not yielding any good results for last minute tickets (whatever is available looks either scammy or too expensive).

Should I go to the door right before the show and try to buy from someone trying to sell their tickets there or is it a waste of time? I've never done this, and since Williamsburg is quite a trek for me, I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle.

Keep checking Craigslist - we sold our tickets for last night's Melvins show there and didn't post them until 6:30 PM the day of the show. That said, there are often people selling their tickets in front of venues - we've done that in the past when we had four tickets to a show but the friends going with us flaked.

The one single ticket listed there is too expensive. Let's see.

Response by poster: Sorry, too fast - let's see if something materializes on Craigslist. I was hoping to buy from someone at the door a little cheaper.

Guestlists are often not finalized until the very last minute in my experience with Bowery Presents venues. They often will have a very limited number of tickets at the door because the house list (or another guestlist) was shorter than they anticipated. Be the first person there when doors open and keep your fingers crossed.
