Is there any way to export ratings along with your library in iTunes? Pretty please?

Another mefi user just shared this with me in a different context, and I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like what you're asking about:

"Go to preferences (control - ,) and change the location of your library to the destination make sure it is set to keep your library organized.

"Go to the 'Advanced' drop down menu and hit 'Consolidate Library...'

"Takes a tad longer than copying the folder, but guaranteed to work as perfectly as possible. iTunes does not write metadata to the actual files every time you change something. This makes sure that that happens, and nsures that the database files are good."

My ratings and playcounts transfered when I did what SSF mentoins above. Follow the directions on the ipodlounge article on moving your library.

Interesting-- I'll have to try the consolidate library technique next time. I always just copy the rating info to another tag that I don't use (BPM for me) as a back-up.

This "consolidate" option doesn't exist on my version. I have 4.7 on a PC. Any other options?

My mistake. I didn't quite understand/follow the directions correctly. I thought the consolidate option was inside the Advanced tab of the Preferences, but instead it's in the Advanced pulldown right in the main interface.
