"Research Utilization" in the context of Public Health and prevention programming--what does it mean exactly?

I'm interviewing for a job titled "Technical Officer-Research Utilization" on Friday. I've been in the same general field (HIV prevention) but working in direct service delivery. From what I can gather, "Research Utilization" has a similar meaning to "Evidence-Based" but different in a way that I can't figure out. Can anyone explain this to me? Or point me to an article that explains it well?

The job would be supporting HIV prevention efforts in developing countries. I suspect that it means something like taking research outcomes and translating them to specific activities. Is that accurate?

Any idea what I'd be doing on a day-to-day basis?

Also, what should I do to prepare for this beyond figure out what "Research Utilization" means?

The idea is bridging theory and innovation (research) into practice (utilization). See here: http://www.researchutilization.org/learnru/welcome2ru/

Look up "roadmaps to health nih translational research" for info on translational research discourse. Top down efforts focus on the question "how do we get practitioners to implement wonderful research discoveries?" Practitioners ask "how can I get researchers to study the problems I have on the ground, instead of creating new drugs and devices and doing research with populations who look nothing like my patients?" Being able to understand and bridge both sides might be an asset.

Response by poster: Welp, I got a hold of my contacts at the org before the phone interview and they explained much more in depth what RU is in the context of this particular organization. I just got a call and they want to schedule an onsite interview! Wish me luck...

Response by poster: Well, just found out I didn't get the job, but was a close second place. Oh well.
