Based on your experience, what would be a really excellent brand and model to go with for over the counter orthotics for arch support and stabilization of the foot?

Superfeet. I like the green ones.

Best answer: The lady has Superfeet Berry Premium Insoles and they have more or less completely resolved her lower leg issues. They have a variety of insoles and I've heard nothing but good things.

Also on the Superfeet recommendation. Many outdoors stores have a display where you can put your foot into the various sizes. I find this helpful since I actually fit better in the size above what the box would have you believe.

Powerstep Pinnacle (I liked it better than Superfeet). I think Powerstep has since made another one even more arch supporting.

I've been very impressed and happy with Superfeet, although I haven't tried another OTC brand of similar quality to compare them to, only crappy things like Dr Scholls.

Just as a datapoint - Superfeet didn't work for me. And they squeaked in my shoes. I ended up with custom orthotics from a podiatrist - still in the trial period to decide if my feet are really feeling better or not.

Best answer: Seconding Powerstep Pinnacle. I like these more than the Superfeet, which are also good. It depends on how much arch support you need.
