Career-Building, ROUND 2! I humbly ask the hive for their analysis of my future plans, help me get it right this time.

A few years ago I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree, and accepted a position in one of the common Retail Management opportunities that appear at college career fairs. The opportunity has been great in terms of building some professional work experience, but I quickly realized that a career in retail / sales was not an ideal fit for me. For various reasons, there are no viable advancement opportunities for me with my current employer.

I went into this phase of my life with this possibility in mind, and have saved a decent amount of money to be able to make a career transition. I am now looking for career opportunities that will be more fulfilling, financially rewarding, and offer a utilitarian skill-set that I can leverage in this economic environment.

I have settled between getting education in either Radiology Technology or Computer Information Systems - two options that I have researched and am confident in their ability to satisfy the aforementioned criteria.

All of that said, I would like to humbly ask you for your opinion / advice. Do you know of a reason why pursuing a career in Radiology Technology / Computer Information Systems is not wise, or would you recommend a specific or alternate course of action? Have any of you had experience in changing course like this, and have advice you wish you had received when you were about to make the leap? I just want to make sure I'm making the best decisions.

Thanks in advance to each of you for all of your help!

Your text sounds like you've read too many career building books. Do some aptitude and interest testing; your college career center should be able to help with this. Visit a library and find out what the current best resources are for career choice; What Color Is Your Parachute used to be standard.
