Samsung Gravity Touch Unlock?

My old roommate left me with his old Samsung Gravity Touch. Is there any way to unlock/jailbreak it?

It's an SGH-t669B model, locked to Virgin Mobile.

Response by poster: To be honest, I want to just use it as a portable media player and camera - so with no carrier.

But if I can't do that I'd rather unlock it so I can sell it

Response by poster: He also left with the charger so I had to order another one, and I've never owned a cell phone before, so forgive my naivety. I guess I should also ask - is it possible to use the device as storage/media/camera without unlocking? I was under the impression that the phone became a brick when it's locked.

Best answer: You don't need to unlock it to sell it. You just can only sell it to someone else who is using Virgin Mobile. I'm a Virgin Mobile customer and it's my impression that it is not easy to change a phone between VM and another carrier.

Regardless, though, you should be able to use all the non-phone/data functions without a plan. For instance, my credit card expired and my VM plan was cancelled for a day or so but everything that didn't require communicating with the network was fine. So I think you're all set - just get it charged up, turn the thing on and go to it! Put it in "airplane" mode and the battery will probably last longer.
