Looking for PDX water chestnuts.

Where can I find fresh, North American-grown water chestnuts in the Portland, OR metro area?

Out to Hillsboro, Sandy, La Center, and Wilsonville.

If the answer is "Nowhere!" then what about down to Eugene? North to Seattle?

Sounds like they (in the US) grow only in Florida and parts of California (http://chinesefood.about.com/od/foodingredients/p/waterchestnut.htm). Have you tried Uwajimaya in Beaverton? Might be worth a shot but I've got no first-hand knowledge of their availability anywhere.

To compliment jz's comment in regard to Uwajimaya, you can also try Fubonn.
